Peabody (Tara) and I went to the outlets today for a little tax-free shopping...Got some good buys at Coach and 2 dozen Krispy Kremes because who can resist Krispy Kremes...Leaving the Krispy Kreme lot a huge white truck comes into our lane and sidewipes Tara's Jetta! Everyone in the lot is waving at him to stop but he speeds up...Tara drives through the lot in reverse, nearly running over a few innocent donut (or as Krispy Kreme spells it doughnut) eaters in an attempt to get a license number...I call 911 and report the crime and the license...Now the truck is within sight, but heading towards the LIE...The 911 dispatcher says follow but keep a safe distance...I am reporting to her exactly where we are...The truck is driving 90-100 on the LIE, swerving among the lanes...Finally gets off at the William Floyd Exit...We get off, follow for 2 miles, reporting to the police where we are...All of a sudden 5 cop cars pull out of the side streets and surround the truck! Anyway, we were there with the cops for over an hour, who first thought the driver was drunk or stoned, but then decided he was very, very slow...And just concerned with getting to his security job on time or being fired...Good news is no one was hurt...

wow!! what an eventful day...i always stop at Krispy Kreme on the way back from the outlets... FSIL and I wait for the red light to come on to get our free doughnut!!! YUMMMYY!!!!

Well, we wound up with 2 dozen because Tara was only going to get six, but then they said a dozen was only $1 more. Tara had some card where you buy 12, get 12 free. So for $1 more we got 18 more! And she wanted to offer them to the cops but I thought they might get offended.
The funniest part though was that the cops asked the guy why he didn't pull over when we were following and motioning him to pull over and honking...He said he was afraid (Tara and I are two of the most non-threatening people ever, our combined weights less than that of this guy, both 5'3' on a good day, in a Jetta surrounded by Coach outlet bags...I am sure we were a very scary sight!)...

Yes, it was an scary adventure for us.
We were going to go to TJ MAXX, but then we got hit.
Beth was awesome, she stayed on the phone with the dispatcher decribing everything as I drove after him. Thank God she was with me, because she kept her cool, my adrenline was pumping and all I wanted to do was get the guy, it was kinda dangerous.
I kinda felt bad because I know Beth really wanted to go to TJ MAXX, but them we got hit and went on the high speed chase. After the accident report, I was exhausted so we went to Roy Rogers for take out and watched The Grudge.

By the way .. just want to add .. I drove past a Dunkin Donuts today .. and there were two cop cars parked outside .. cops were takin a break inside!

I love their fried chicken .. the biscuits aren't what they used to be .. but I'm glad there is still one around that's not too far out of the way for us.

I wasn't in the mood for TJ Maxx anymore after the chase! ;) Roy's chicken really hit the spot (along with a few more doughnuts!). Anyway, it was a great day despite the chase (which makes for a great story, though they said you should never chase a suspect after you have his license plate #!).

Wendy, I KNOW!!!! It was weird, because after we got the liscense plate ##, we asked if we should continue, or actually Beth did. And the dispatcher said just don't so anything too put yourselves at risk, but she didn't say to stop following him.
And then at the scene when the police stopped him and we were all pulled over they told us we should have never followed after we got the license plate number.
It was kinda weird and you could tell the police were pissed at the dispatcher.

Then I'm a big idiot .. because I was across from the Melville Krispy Kreme the other day, and there was a 'hot, fresh' red Krispy Kreme donut sign lit in the window.
