Krock is having resurection weekend. All 80's and 90's

We where listening last night. They played so many old Pearl Jam my obsession! Depece Mode The Cure EVERYTHING Its awesome. They should have a channel like this all the time!!!!! Right now Counting Crows is on.

I think they should change there format and play what they play this weekend all the time. its like WLIR!!

i heard it too - i was thinking the same thing! i'd listen all the time. this morning i heard the entire 'pictures of you' by the cure!

I know. DH used to be in a band called 'Average Joe' and he got all excited cause its all the music they would play.

I MISS LIR!!! i know it was only a radio station, but holy crap, it was the best and it was generational, you know? all those middle school and high school memories???

Um, yeah....what's up with LIR (DRE)? THere's a spanish station in its place now. So depressing! Why gone after all these yrs?

since i moved from long island back in 92 to maine the radio has gotten so bad down there like what happned to 102.7 or lir 92.7 did i miss what went wrong and were are all the d.j's now.....

I work for LIR's sister station, Party 105.3.

LIR's parent company sold the 92.7 transmitter to Univision for $60 Million. As saddened as I was by the loss of such a great station, I would've done it too in the same position.

Malibu Sue, Jon Daniels, and Rob Rush all went to Island 94.3.

Andre and Seany O are still at WLIR, which is now the Box and broadcasts only to eastern Suffolk County on 107.1.

Since you left in 92, Maiahsdad, you might be interested to know that Gary Cee left LIR a year ago, and is now the Program Director at WPDH in Poughkeepsie.
