WOW!!! So sorry......
I cannot respond about her being good because I never interviewed her. However, I will say that that was very rude to a prospective client. Based on that treatment alone I would probably not even bother with her even if she IS good. JMHO>

Re: LA Blossom
Normally, I would say that was rude, but remember, it is December already and maybe the context was more 'I can see you next month' then 'I don't have time for you yet'
Personally, I wouldn't discount someone a vendor because she was a little curt on the phone, but that is just me.

Re: LA Blossom
i agree, some ppl are not phone polite or savy... i emailed her a few times , she was firm and responsive...but didnt like congratulate me a million times on being engaged like some other vendors lol
shes supposed to be vendor of the year, and her work seems pretty nice, but sadly she was already booked on my date. anyhow booking florist a year or two in advance is a lil early in my opinion... especially since i would change my mind... etc
but there are other great florists as welll you can check out:

Re: LA Blossom
She is one of the most down to earth vendors I've met. I don't know the context of the conversation... but try to give her a call in the new year. She's really very accomodating and helpful. I liked her alot and I've been very eagle eye on vendors' (bad)attitudes... she had none, as far as my experience went.. her work seemed very good to me... and she was very sweet.

Re: LA Blossom
not everyone gets along with everyone else (including vendors)
there are 100s of florists on LI...many never mentioned on here.
you will find the right one for you. just keep looking. and you have plenty of time...you have several months before you have to book a florist!

Re: LA Blossom
Honestly....I think you'd be missing out on a REALLY GREAT vendor. We are not using her SOLELY because of price. FH and I both fell in love with her creativity and designs but her price was a little too rich for our blood.
I was in a wedding in july (Suzbride) who used her and she was AMAZING. She hand delivered everything herself that morning and made any changes necessary at the time of delivery (ended up adding flowers right in front of us so that the was happy!! The flowers were great and they lasted for a REALLY long time.
IMHO, I would give her a second try....maybe she was having a bad day....stressed b/c of the holidays....etc.

I agree, this time of the year has everyone stressed out..........I would give her a second chance and if you get bad vibes again, then you will know she is not the vendor for you.

Re: LA Blossom
She was one of my absolute favorite vendors!!!
Honestly, you shouldn't even go worrying about booking a florist this early in the game. A lot of vendors are not meeting with 08 or 09 brides just yet. Wait until at least March or April and then start looking. This site has everyone believing they need to book everything the second they get engaged. It's insane.
Enjoy being engaged for a while. And then try her back after the New Year. She is not rude at all, but might have come off that way if she was distracted.

I'm sorry you got a bad first impression of Laurie, she does amazing work. In her defense I can say that she has a standard policy regarding how far in advance she will meet with brides, and she won't meet with an '08 bride in '06 (just as she wouldn't meet with an '07 bride in '05 etc).
