Has anyone ever heard of La Grange Inn in West Islip? Any comments?

La Grange Inn-West Islip

I checked this out when I was looking. I don't remember the prices off hand, but I think they were reasonable. I didn't pick it for a few reasons. The first was that half of the place is a restaurant and the banquet portion is the other half. So people will be there enjoying dinner as your reception is going on. I also wanted seperate rooms for my cocktail hour and reception. They have one big room that they put up a wall divider through and the cocktail hour is set up on one half and the reception on the other. The wall divider didn't look bad, I just wanted different rooms. But if these things wouldn't bother you, it's worth checking out.

We looked at the LaGrange also. They were about to redocrate the banquet room and they weren't able to give us a good idea about the new look. I remember the prices being very reasonable. I have to go along with July3bride about other reasons we didn't book it. I did hear from a friend the food is delcious and the manager we spoke to was very nice.

Had my 12-28-01 there...

and it was wonderful!! we had seperate rooms for the cocktail hour andreception. We had the whole reception room(no room divider). The rooms were decorated so nice because of christmas so may be that covered something but the rooms were beautiful. The food there is Amazing! and you get a ton of it!! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!! The women we dealt with was Kathy and she was great.

I am also having my wedding at La Grange. I have never heard any bad things, only that the place is a little old and tired. Well, thats because it has been around since the 1700's. I think it is lovely, and just what we were looking for. I have had to postpone my date, and they have worked with me all the way. The managers name is Lenny, and he has been great. Enjoy

My family threw my grandparents a 50th anniversary party there. I remember it being very nice...the food was good! I think they paid around $40 a head but that was for a buffet and it was 4 years ago! That room is huge--we only had about 85/90 people but the room fits way more. They were nice to deal with though! hope this helps a little.
