We just blocked our rooms today at La Quinta (formerly the Wingate Inn). Wingate was a franchise that was owned by a family in Garden City for 7 years. They sold it to La Quinta and it switched over about a month ago. The rate went up from Wingate but anyone that had Wingate pricing still gets what's in their contracts so don't worry. Anyone going forward has the higher price. It's not much higher, but it's a chain so that's what they do. The place is really nice, very modern and updated with a lot of different things. Since they switched owners a month ago, their liquor license did not switch over (it can't legally) so there is no bar for the time being. Our sale coordinator Danielle said they are hoping it comes through within the month so they can get things going again immediately.
Aside from the complimentary breakfast they also offer snacks like chicken fingers, wings from 6-9pm.
For every fifteen rooms between all the days you block or a guest in your group blocks you get one free roundtrip shuttle in their 14-passenger van. So basically my OOT family can fly in Friday and leave Monday they are occupying 3 nights (3 rooms).
The grand bridal suite is HUGE! We booked that because I might be getting ready there with my girls since half of them are from OOT.
ETS: Anyone that has a contract that was originally through Wingate they are honoring those rates. So don't worry if you had a $139/night rate, that's what it will be. New contracts are more.

Thanks for the update! I booked my rooms with them with they were The Wingate. I've called and spoke with Kirsten and confirmed with what you've said as well. And, I stopped in this weekend and the only differences I saw were the sign & paint color. Thanks for the update!!

Re: La Quinta (formerly Wingate Inn) update
thanks for the heads up! what if you have X rooms blocked at the old rate and end up needing more. can you extend how many rooms you need at the old rate as well, or would you have to add those at the new rate?

Re: La Quinta (formerly Wingate Inn) update
Luckily, I booked the bridal suite when it was The Wyngate. I just called and blocked some rooms for my guests and the price went up to $203! And thats if 10 rooms are booked, if not it goes up to like $220 a night for a regular room!

It is orange now, but it's not that bad. I posted a pic of it that I took this past Saturday... I don't have the pic- but if you search it's on a thread from Saturday night...

Yes, I reserved my room block with Wingate for $149 per night. I was told they will honor this now even under the new management.

These updates have been great! I've been going a bit crazy since the name change b/c we have so many out of town guests- and I didn't want them paying GC hotel rates! Hopefully, it will settle and La Quinta will still be a nice but reasonable hotel...

We were quoted $159 for regular rooms and $339 for the Grand Bridal Suite. There are other suites that are $279.
