Labels-how do you set them up?

Okay so i wanted to print out labels for my thank you's and i'm not sure how. I'd be using microsoft word. I know that you can either do them as labels somehow or a mail merge. Any ideas?

Do you have the labels? Avery labels have instructions in them.

You'll have to do them in mail merge since you want each label to have different information.

It will ask you at one point to determine the label size (that's why you need the number).

Do you have your list typed out into excel?

Re: Labels-how do you set them up?

Open up a Word document.
Go to Tools. Then click on letters and mailings. Then click on Envelopes and labels. On the lower right hand side it will give you a label box. Click on that box and it will give you a drop down box of all possible brand names and label numbers. Choose your label name and number (it will be listed on the box of labels: ie. 'Avery 3324' or whatever). Click okay... then click new document and the page is now formatted for your label. (it's a whole page of your size labels..) then you just type in the address into each box... and print!

If you want multiple copies of the SAME label just type it into the box given and then click new docuement and the whole page of labels will have the same label.

HTH!!!!

See my directions above.

8660 is the label number... once that is imputted, Word will automatically know the size of the label and the text will be formatted to the label size.

I just wanted to make sure they were AVERY first before I went through this whole song and dance...

NOw..listen and learn:

Open MS Word, click TOOLS, then LETTERS AND MAILINGS then ENVEL{POES AND LABELS.

Then a box will pop up. Make sure you click the LABELS TAB, then OPTIONS make sure it says AVERY STANDARD in Label products drop down area.

Then under product Number scroll to 8660. Click OK, then NEW DOCUMENT

And ...vualla (sp ) You will see the labels on your screen...type away and format!

Then print...but here is a tip seeing as yuou only have a few, print it once on regular paper, then hold the regular paper in the front and the labels in the back. Then hold them up to the light to make sure they are lining up right just to be sure...then print
