Labor Day Weekend - Saturday

Hey,
We recently got engaged and are planning a labor day saturday wedding next year on 9/3/11.

I would love to hear your experiences with the RH's and vendors on long island. Did you find that the prices were higher and availability was less because it was a holiday weekend? We are still in the early stages of planning, but I would like an idea of what we should set our budget at.
Would you mind giving me what you were quoted for this day this year?

My top 3 are Swan Club, Crest Hollow and Woodbury CC.
Does anyone know if these places allow you to bring in outside catering?

first off...congrats!!!
I was originally looking for a holiday weekend in 2011...it is less expensive then a normal summer weekend. However, that being said some of the dates were already booked.
I am not certain about outside catering but i dont think CHCC allows it.
FM if you want more details...i def have the CHCC pricing for holiday weekends at home and possibly for the other venues you are interested in bc i went looking there too

I'm getting married this Labor Day Sun at Crest Hollow. They will still treat it as a Sat for pricing. I picked Sun b/c it is cheaper and it is like a Sat since most people have the next day off. I don't think they allow outside catering...

i originally wanted that date (but for 2010) .... if i remember correctly, my hall was going to charge the same as a 'regular' (not long weekend) Sunday.

ETA: oh, and WCC does allow outside caterers BUT they don't give you a price reduction (so you're paying $100-some-odd-dollars per person regardless of whehter they're feeding them or not)

Maybe i should give some more details.

We don't really want the whole thing outside catered. The thing is, for traditions sake, she would like to have Indian food at our wedding. But not ALL indian. I would say that the overall look of the venue itself and pricing is more important than the food being served. It's just one of those things we would 'like to have'. Do some places allow inside & outside dual catering?

I was really thinking about the September 4th - Sunday Evening thing, but September 3rd will be our 7 1/2 yr anniversary. So the date is quite important to us.

From my experience with Woodburry CC, they charge Saturday rates for Long weekend. So does Sandcastle (i know it wasn't your venue but figured I would share:)

On the friday though. I don't believe they made the price higher for me but Saturdays are always more expensive. WCC has been fabulous to us and we are very happy so far!
