I saw this movie yesterday, a good movie, not exactly how I expected it to be, just wondering if firefighters family's have any interest in going? It felt like such an intense movie, and a movie that would definately hit home for a firefighters family

Re: Ladder 49
We went to see the 5pm showing at Lowe's near Source Mall and I bawled at the end. I mean sobbing. And so were two other people. I could hear them.
DH said two guys that were in the theatre went into the bathroom as he went in (they were not together, each were with a woman in the theatre) and looked like they shed a few tears too. DH said he's never seen a movie affect people like this. I said well alot of people probably had friends that were firemen on 9/11 and while the movie has nothing to do with 9/11 it still affects people.
It was a great movie though. I was surprised at the ending too but if they ended it the way one would hope, it would be cliche I guess.
I missed the Baltimore mayor I think (I've met him before, he's a complete hottie) was he the one at the awards presentation? I saw him listed in the credits (played himself).

If I personally knew a fallen firefighter, I think I would find this movie to be too harsh. I thought the story was beautifully told, and these men are incredible heros, but I cried like a baby, DH was also choked up

I cried. A LOT. My husband is a firefighter paramedic. It was too close to home for me. I was a mess. I still feel sad when I think about it.

My DH was asking me which one of his chiefs I would want to come to the house to tell me. How morbid is that!

It was a great movie for what it was, but very very difficult to watch. I was a hysterical mess by the end.
