Ladera in St. Lucia

Has anybody been here or know anything about it? Travel Tom just suggested it to me, and for those of you who read my other post, I am getting really stressed about this honeymoon situation and the sales end tomm for the Sandals resort which we would stay at for half of the time and then the Ladera for the other half. Is this recommended???

Tom suggested the same thing to us. 3 nights at Ladera and 4 nights at Sandals. In the end, we decided against that itinerary and went to Excellent Punta Cana (much better deal and we had an awesome room for the entire time), but we will be going to Ladera for an entire trip at some point in the future for a special anniversary when we have more money and can afford a full week there.

I've eaten at the restaurant at Ladera. It's a beautiful resort. Just be aware, the rooms only have 3 walls and are completely open on the 4th...some people may find that freaky.

FH and I almost booked with Ladera for our HM as well. I think this resort is the best thing since sliced bread! The website photos are absolutely breathtaking!

We didn't book because it was over our budget. Good luck!

Excellence Rivera Cancun. Its an adult only resort. We went through Travel Tom as well.

FH and I strongly considered Ladera, but went with Jade Mountain instead. Jade Mountain has the same idea.....the 3 walls and 1 open, but seemed more modern as opposed to Ladera which appeared more rustic to us. Plus, we didn't want to do Sandals and then another resort, so to help cut costs a bit....we're staying at the base of the mountain first, closer to the beach, not as great a view, not as exciting a room, but all inclusive - first, and then going to the top (Jade) of the mountain for the last few days. We went through Travel Tom as well.

keep in mind that the sale might end tonight. some parts of the sandals website say 'book by dec 31' and other parts say 'book before dec 31' so its possible that they mean the sale to end tonight.

i dont mean to stress you out more (we just booked tonight an hour ago) but better safe than sorry. i wouldnt be surprised if they extend it again but it could also be an 07 special and prices could go up if you book in 08

Re: Ladera in St. Lucia

I went through Travel Tom for my HM. We weren't able to go on our HM yet b/c we got married the the first week in Sept. and I teach. Anyway, we are going in Feb. and Travel Tom recommended Ladera but since we are going during a popular time we would have to stay for 3 nights and then Sandals for 4. He said most people usually do 2 nights at Ladera and 5 at Sandals. We decided to just stay at Sandals. It looks absolutely b eautiful and I wish we were staying there. As for Jade mountain that place looks amazing but completely out of our price range. I would take the opportunity if I was you and stay at Ladera if you can. Good Luck!!
