Are you doing anything else with the card stating you've given a donation? Chocolate bar/kisses, mints, or anything small like that?

Re: Ladies doing a Donation as favor
Nope. I am just doing the card. But at the ceremony I will be giving Indian tea bags as small favors.

Re: Ladies doing a Donation as favor
We recently just went to another wedding where the couple did a donation and all they did was printed the announcement: In Lieu of Favors, X & X has decided to make a donation to X charity and they put this in an 8X10 picture frame that was displayed on a mantle - I think we may do the same thing too.

That's a good idea...think we might do that

We ar giving a donation and making a little favor. Our theme is locks and keys, so we are making chocolate keys to tie the tag with donation info to.

I'm making chocolate challenge coins to go with the theme of the donation...just a little something extra.

Re: Ladies doing a Donation as favor
Both weddings I've been to this summer did donations-- one gave out rubber bracelets displaying the name of the foundation to which the donations were made. The other put the donation card on a little box which contained a little heart shaped cookie cutter.
Another idea I have seen is printing out the donation information on plantable paper so that guests can plant the paper in soil for wildflowers to grow (it really works-- I have tried it!).

I want to do donations and my FH and I don't agree on this one. He thinks his huge Italian family won't get it, they need something to walk out with. However I plan on winning this dispute. I love the rubber bracelet idea.

Re: Ladies doing a Donation as favor
We are going to leave a donation card at each place setting (instead of 1 menu per person, there will be 2 menus per table on little easels).
I also plan on a DIY project to have a bottle of water at the door for each guest on the way out, wrapped in lace. Got the idea from a wedding blog (sparkeandhay.com). We are doing a Viennese hour with dessert, coffee and cordials, so I just wanted to make sure our guests would be hydrated on the way out, that's always what I'm looking for on the way home no matter how much I drank!
