Ladies getting married at the church. Help please!!!

How much did you 'donate' to the church. They just sent me the envelope in the mail???

my church is very out spoken we HAVE to give $500 and then tip the alter boys $15-$20 each

Thats how FH feels but what can you do, it is alot thosse alter boys are only getting $15

Same here and we also have to give the organist $200 and the chanter $50. and the guy who takes care of the behind the scenes things $30. and our priest of course $100.

Our 'suggested' offering is $650 and then tips for the alter boys.

ETA: They don't give us a donation envelope -- we just hand the priest a check the night of the rehersal.

$500 donation and I have to pay the organist $200. If I drop petals my tip goes from 50-75 to one of the boys.

My priest says we have to pay 500 but it can be paid within the year, we also have to pay the organist fee, cantor and another person forgot what he is called.

this church was not our church, and we were bringing in our own pastor, so we gave them $150, then gave the pastor $250, which was donated to DH's church that he grew up in.

so wait - i have a question - i received a little card that had fee's on it - it didn't say 'suggested donation' it also went into how a price can not be placed on the receiving of a sacrament...if you are in financial hardship please speak to the priest...yada yada yada. so for the church its $300. is this our donation or do we also need to give an additional donation.

how about tipping the priest? i've heard of this here and there too.
