Tell him to wait until after the holidays - that with going away for Thanksgiving, and then Chistmas/Hanakah coming up you'll have more money in January to buy something special.

Egads!!!! Just tell him to hold off & he really does not need another one and there is so many other things that you could you buy than another guitar. Also, the one he was outbid on was an omen not to get another one.

LOL, my mom bought me a guitar for my 16th Birthday. I was under the impression that my birthday gift that year was my trip to Israel (where I had learned to play the guitar). But as my birthday approached, my mom was SURE that I was onto her guitar purchase. So she bought me a porcelain doll to 'Throw me off her scent.'
My Mom's crazy sometimes.

Oh my goodness. My brother buys and sells guitars on ebay. I feel your pain. Why don't you tell him to hold off because some on LIWeddings said her FH/DH/brother/father blah blah is auctioning off _______ (insert what he really wants) and it is signed by _____ (somebody he really admires) and it is going up soon.
I also agree with the seduction thing.

Jenn, my husband has 9 guitars. There is no stopping them. And, no matter how many they have, a new one will always seem like the first they ever got.
DH has one guitar that he takes out twice a year. When he does, the earth stands still, the heavens open up, and angels fly out and sing. It's a sickness I tell you. I feel your pain.
