Ladies, I need u r help... manicurist related.......

I have been going to my nail lady for years- 5 to be exact... last week at my 2 week appt, she was rushing me, and I was there early , like I always am, and she skipped the hand massage, burned me with her drill, and then burned me with a nail file, when I told her to calm herself down, she did, but as a result of this I have an infection in my right thumb, right below my cuticle line, she actually drilled my skin, sorry if TMI. She told me she was rushing because I had some broken nails- which I hardly ever have, and someone after me was coming on there lunch hour after me... so when I called the shop they told me I needed to talk to her about it and she had plently of time when I was there- she should not have been rushing. I treat her very well, give her nice tips every 2 weeks and occassionally bring in things for her during the year and I give her a gift for the hoildays. Should I go to another salon? I get my hair cut there so it is not like I would never see her again.. Help! I am on antibiotics and an antibiotic cream and they took a culture of my nail bed.....

I would talk to the manager of the salon and see if you can be reimbursed for the dr and medicine. Years ago, my mother had a similar problem. She developed a bad infection from a manicure. She went to the salon and spoke to the manager. A few days later she got reimbursed for the medical attention and a refund on the manicure.

Good luck

It's so funny with these type of people because it's like you're 'breaking up' or in a serious relationship with them. I know it can be hard when you've been with them for so long.
But an infection is a serious thing! You definitely need to go to the manager and get your money back.
Also speak to your manicurist. Since you have such a long relationship, I'd give her a second chance just based on that.

BUT--- if she denies it... then find a new store.

I agree...work it out with the shop and the manicurist.

yikes! I would definitely speak to her about this. But I would probably go to another salon for my nails.

I'm sorry this happened. and I hope your finger heals fast

I would definitely see if you can be reimbursed for what youhad to pay towards the infection caused by her rushing. Otherwise, I always break nails as I am hard on my hands...and he has rushed a few times but has never actually hurt me.

I would probably find another place to go. She shouldnt be rushing to a point that you are injured-that to me is not ok.

Hope your finger gets better soon!

Called the salon and they told me I should talk to the manicuirst myself. I am too chicken, I hate confrontation, so I made an appointment at another place next week to try it out. I am going to decide from there.I agree when it is not a nice experience it is not worth it, especially your own health. My finger is a lot better then it was. Thanks again for all of your help!

She told you she was rushing because of someone else????? And in the midst of this rushing, she injured you???????

There is no way I would use this person again. I would also send a written complaint to the manager/owner and tell the world NOT to use this person (or salon since they told you to speak to her yourself I can't understand what YOU would have to speak to her about! They should be reprimanding her! )

They should definitely pay for your medical bills. They have insurance for things like this.
