My florist tole me that there is no such thing as a natural blue rose... they are all dyed. Some florist won't work with dyed flowers.

Even some flowers that are naturally certain colors are dyed. For example, if in a particular year, the blue hydrangea crop is not so good they will use white ones and dye them or enhance their color.

Same is true for some semi-precious stones in jewlery.
