I found a handful of thank you cards I never sent out because I didn't have their addresses - I need to call them and get the addresses....
How do I do this? Shoudl I be matter of fact and pretend I'm still sending them out, or apologize and say they have been on my coffee table under a stack of bills for 5 months because I got sidetracked with other things????
I wrote the TYs back in July - what is wrong with me????
Help!!!

i saw something like this on oprah a long time ago. the bride wrote the thank you cards and gave them to the husband to mail. he put them in his trunk and forgot about them. they found them almost a YEAR after the wedding.
if i remember correctly, the etiquette pro told them to SEND THEM ASAP!!!!! it's NEVER TOO LATE to say thank you.

Are they photo TYs? If they are, and if these people wouldn't have heard from other people that they'd been sent out so long ago, I'd just say 'we finally got the TYs from the photographer.' Otherwise, fess up. Or, can you blame your DH? Say you each thought the other one had called for the address and sent them out?
That might work - the phot thing, and of course, blaming DH is always in the plan!!!

I think you can be honest and say you got sidetracked
We have a friend in the same situation and still trying to get thank you cards out. Their wedding was around the same time as yours. You may want to get them out now though since they will get lost in the holiday card shuffle otherwise.

I think you can be honest and say you got sidetracked

According to etiquette, you have up to a year to send out TY... so I think you're fine.

I would just send them, and if people ask how you have been tell them about the baby and they won't even realize when the wedding was.... Dont worry about it!
