Alright, call me a geek... DH and I just bought our first house, and are trying to do renovations on a budget. Chris's family is in contracting, painting, but no masons, tile layers, etc, and the bathroom needs work. So I am going to one of the free classes at Home Depot in East Meadow tonight.
It's from 7 - 9:30, and they are offering a bunch of different classes. I signed up ahead of time, but I'm 99% sure you can come either way.
I am taking one on tile laying, but they are offering a bunch of different ones. I know others include installing plumbing stuff, hanging fans, faux finishes, etc.
If anyone is interested, give them a call.....

Can I just tell you that I tried my first faux finish - I rag rolled a wall in the living for an accent wall - it came out AWESOME!!!!!
Glad to hear the class was worthwhile!!!! When you finally attempt it, let us know how it came out!

LOL, I used to work at HD...oh how I hated teaching those classes. But now that I am out of there, I appreciate the fact that I can rewire a lamp, texturize a wall, and maintain a healthy lawn!
