Re: ladies that are short
Im 5 ft tall..if i stand up REALLY straight! I picked a slim a line gown. I love the way mermaid gowns look but I personally think they look best on taller women. (this is not to offend any girls in mermaid gowns who are short!..they just didn't look right on me and its my personal opinion.) I liked this fit because it was fitted but not so fitted that i looked silly and it certainly wasn't poofy! Here are a couple pics that you can see the shape of the dress.

5'2'- 5'5' with heels..
I got corset A line...made me look the tallest. My second dress is modified mermaid..gets straighter much lower then flares to give me a more longer torso look...
Not best pic of first.. don't have second yet...

Re: ladies that are short
Like Mrs. Drinkwater said, I'm also 5'0 if I stand up REALLY tall
I got a modified A-Line as well, technically even a 'sheath' shape.
I'm 5'1' and I got an A-line, but the skirt is pretty full. I might even wear ballet shoes (tribute to my mom) the day of. And I really don't care. I'm short. I've been short my whole life. So, if I look short on my wedding that is just who I am. LOL.

Re: ladies that are short
I am 5'1.5' at best and I am looking for something a little more fitted and maybe somewhat slinky (nothing too drastic). I found that when I put on the more fitted dresses like trumpet and mermaid, I look thinner and taller.

Re: ladies that are short
I guess it depends how you are built but the mermaid and trumpet made me look shorter waisted because of the division. It also made me more 'poochy' hard to explain. But all of you made great choices and look BEAUTIFUL!
