Ladies that went to Europe for their HM....

FH is trying to make me leave my E ring at home when we go on our honeymoon. I don't want to!

We are going to Italy and Greece, and no where shady in there...Venice and Rome and Mykonos, Santorini and Athens...

Can I bring it? Its insured!

I feel like I've been waiting to wear them together for SO long that its making me mad that he wants me to leave it!

I went to some all of theplaces you mentioned except Mykonos.

My ring stayed home. There are people in Italy that try to steal from you. Yes, they pull pocket books and fanny packs off of people. Will they steal your ring? Probably not.

However, I am a worry wart so my ring stayed home. In the safe. I got a fake bridal set from Claires and was very happy in doing so. I didn't have to worry about a thing.

We went to France -- 3 different cities over 10 days -- and I had my rings on my finger the whole time (even when we kayaking) without any issue.

It's up to you -- do what you're comfortable with.

I went to Greece (athens, santorini, ios, and paros) and did not take either of my rings. . I bought a smaller band where I bought my DOJ just so I wouldnt think about it too much and/or draw attention.

I think it would have been fine to wear it. . I mean I always think well people LIVE in athens and don't take off their jewelry you know? I mean I live in NYC and people steal from you here LOL..

but it's personal i guess. . I mean as a tourist you are already more of a target I guess but prob you will be fine but if you will worry it's prob not worth it. . and if anything DID happen you know you and DH would have a BIG OLD 'i told ya so' fight

i didn't go to Europe for my HM, but I just got back from Italy this week. I was a bit nervous wearing them b/c of all I've heard about gypsies and people trying to steal. now i could have just gotten lucky, and i was always keeping my eye out, but i wore my rings and NOTHING happened in the week I was in Rome, Florence and Venice.

It's really a personal decision, but if they are nice and tight on your finger, then i think you should be fine. I went to Bermuda for my HM and went swimming in the ocean with both rings and nothing happened to them either. good luck!

I dont care where one goes on the honeymoon IMO the best idea is leaving it in a safe place/safe mind back at home

I lived in Rome the gypsies just want cash money/wallet so just watch out esp dont pay attention to signs that they hold, babies, or kids who try to steal. Look down and never keep eye contact

and most of them cant even tell what is real what is fake so I say if you feel already unsure leave it here
