I knew FH's dad wasn't going to wear a tux. He is cheap and doesn't like them. Ok, so we figured he'd be wearing a dark suit w/a white shirt and tie. Well he is wearing a dark suit, but with a red shirt. Today we go to their house and FH's step mom said to FH & I 'do you want to see the red shirt and tie your father is wearing?' I said 'your joking' she said 'nope'. I was speechless. Of course, FH is a jellyfish and says nothing. My wedding is in 14 days and I'm not getting stressed over things, but come on.

Did you & your FH give your parents wedding gifts? If not perhaps you could purchase your FFIL a shirt & tie as a gift to wear on the wedding day. It does sounds like you have the support of your FMIL. Perhaps she can help you out with selecting something he would not only wear but also like.

That is a great idea, if you were dealing w/normal people. Also, If I did that, I would be accused of telling people what t wear. When we got engaged FH's stepmom asked if his dad had to wear a tux cause he doesn't like them, so I said 'no just a dark suit' and they didn't like that I told them them 'what to wear' FH's father is older (70) and from the old school and somewhat set in his ways.

I can understand about FH dad not liking a tux, a lot of guys & gals don't. Is FH stepmom wearing a red dress? Is he matching her? If he is then, I would not worry as much as it will photograph lovely. Sending you good luck wishes and some of these

People will do what they want...try to just ignore them & on the big day, you will be so excited & happy that you probably won't even notice the red shirt!!!! I hope???? good luck...your day is almost here!!!!

Don't sweat it Joyce, like you said nothign to get stressed about, take it in stride. You are getting a great husband, let his dad wear what he wants, it'll all work out!
