Ladies who are using or thinking of using Hydrangea
I have purchased TWO centerpieces on my own just to get a feel for flowers that I would like. Both had just hydrangea, green & peach roses and filler and both centerpieces hydrangea DIED the next day.
These are from two diff. florists. NONE of which informed me until I complained that these flowers do not last (only can be used for that day). I am kinda ticked off that the florist didn't inform me when placing the order and wasting $60. Needeless to say I may not go back to the florists to book my wedding.
I realize many people have used hydrangea for the weddings and some of lasted a few days but from what I have just experience I am not taking a chance. I am getitng married on a sunday and i know they are not going to make my flowers up Sunday they will make them up on Saturday or even Friday as most florists work on flowers a day or two prior to the wedding depending on how busy they are. SO BE WARNED!!!

hydrangeas are my cousins favorite flowers - so her friend decided to get them for her shower. . . well in the five hour span btw purchasing them and displaying them. . . they basically rotted out and looked brown and slimey. . . her friend went to school to be a florist so i know it wasnt something that WE did. . .we were all very upset bc my cousin was going to use them for her wedding but she had to completely change all of her flowers!

That's really good information. I planned on using a few in my centerpiece. Those flowers would have been white so any rotten-ness of discoloration would probably show up immediately. Now I dont' think I'm going to use them. The last thing I'd want to do is spend all that money on beutiful cneterpieces then have them die or rot during my wedding! Thanks alot!!

hmmm good info...i didn't plan on using them but I see so many girls on here who do, so good to warn them.
well it ***** that you wasted money on them and they died the next day but better you found out this way rather than on your wedding day

AHhhhh! I wanted to use them as well... nice to know .. gotta think of something else to put instead. Was going to do white/lavender hydranegas with lavender, cream, pink roses...what else is good to use that won't break the bank.
Kinda funny though I didn't want hydrangea but FH liked it.. lol go figure I might be able to blame him ..lmao
