Ladies who bought your gowns from Davids Bridal....
1. Did you get the alterations done there?
2. If so, how was your experience?
3. If not, where did you get your alterations done?
I keep hearing mixed reviews about getting the alterations done at Davids Bridal and thought it would be a good idea to seek out the advice of you ladies.
Thanks!

I got my dress there but did NOT do my alterations there. I had them done by a seamstress who works out of her home in Wantagh (but she works part time at a bridal store, so she is definitely experienced in wedding dresses). Two other 08 girls got their dresses done by her too - she is fabulous. If you want her info let me know.
I heard David's is a MESS to work with when it comes to alterations. I would avoid them at all costs.

I got my alterations done at the David's Bridal in Lake Grove and I had a pretty good experience. I went for my first fitting about 2 months before. There were a ton of people there but I made sure the lady didn't rush me. I just needed a hem and the bustle. When she pinned the bustle it wasn't even and I told her I wanted it straight. She tried to tell me that it was normal and I insisted that she fixed it. The third time she finally got it right. I went for a second fitting and everything was perfect. They pressed my gown and I picked it up a few days before the wedding. I think anywhere, but especially there you have to be firm and very clear with what you want. If you have a David's Bridal credit card, you are able to put alterations on that card. Good luck and feel free to FM me with any questions.
