Ladies who get their hair highlighted..

I'm a little confused with what my hairstylist suggested. We usually highlight my hair every 6 months. My last highlighting was back in August so I'm obviously due...

well I saw her in January and she said because of the wedding, I should wait til April to highlight and then do it again in early July. Does this make much sense? Mine's really subtle and natural so I can get away without it for so long...but it doesn't make sense to get it done in April then again 3 months later. I think she had a reason but I don't get it!

How often do you get your hair highlighted? Thanks!

I get my hair highlighted faithfully every 2 months. My hair grows like weed and is very dark so I def. need it! lol

I get my hair highlighted every 2 months and I never heard of that, but who knows, everyone is different

oh wow, I didn't realize people got it done so often! I guess because my highlights aren't too far off from my color.

I'm just going crazy with my roots right now- I hate feeling so dark and dreary in the winter, I love to brighten it up!

I am with you I go like every 6-8 months. Just got them done a week ago and she said that since the summer will be coming it will get lighter on its own....She only did a half of head - Then in August she is going to do the full head.

same here... got an appt tonight to go and the next one I make will be b4 the wedding (late April)

I do my roots (color) every two months and then touch up my highlights every other time I do my roots.

So I guess I do my highlights every 4 months.

I just did my roots on Monday and we discussed the wedding and agreed that I'll keep doing my roots every two months but give the highlights a rest until September to do a full head for the wedding.

I get my roots dyed every 2 months and highlights every 6 months. Now my hair is dark so I'm just waiting until late April/ May to dye it light again...then for June, I'll touch it up and add highlights so they'll be more visible for the wedding in July.

I also get mine done every like 6 months. This sounds strange to me to be honest (I worked in a hair salon for several years). It doesnt make sense that she would have you come in for highlights that close together.

What i would recommend (and what I'll be doing) is get your highlights done now and then do them again about 3 weeks before the wedding -- this way they're freshly done so theres no roots, but its still far enough away from the wedding that the color has evenly set in and its not as bright as the week you got it done.

For me, I'll be doing mine in March since my shower is in April (i dont wanna look horrible with roots for my shower) and then I'll get it done again in the tail end of May. I asctually should have gone weeks ago to have mine done....so I'm kind of off-schedule.

I try to get my highlights done every 8-10 weeks; it's painful while trying to save for the wedding.

im doing the opposite- trying to REMOVE the highlights, so my girl has been dying it every 2-3 months for the past year up until the wedding.. i would think that highlighting would be the same???
