Did you feel it was worth it? How does it work? Is it an additional hour added to your reception (can you break down the time period if you did have it) I want to add it but I need to know if it is worth it. My wedding is from 12-530 but my BM manager told me in order to have ithe viennesse hour I would have to start at 11:30. Keep in mind I'm having my ceremony at the hall. Does this seem correct?

Re: Ladies who had or will have a vienesse hour...
Some places do it by adding an extra hour, and some (like the East Wind, where we had it) did it at the same time as they served the cake, in a separate room. It all depends on your place, I think. Personally, I am such a sweets person, and our Italian families look forward to it, so it was a done deal that we had it. I LOVED IT - the food was SO SO SO good, and everyone had a great time with it. If you and/or your DH or families are sweets people, go with it. I would check on the adding an hour thing, though, because the earlier your ceremony, the earlier you will wake up, and if you're not a morning person . . . I would think in terms of scheduling whether it is worth it or not. My best friend had her wedding at Villa Lombardi's in the daytime, but she didn't add an hour. YUM! again, all worth it.

i just went to a wedding where they had the vienesse hour after cutting the cake and i have to tell you i was stuffed and i had to make myself eat dessert. if you do this put it on the menu so people leave room for it.
i didnt even get to see everything that was there. i was sooo full!

I'm getting married at Villa Lombardi's and we had the choice of doing it during the cutting of the cake or having a hour added on. My father being right off the boat italian said we had to have seperate so we added an hour onto the wedding.

we added the vienese and got the extra hour. However, between our wedding ending late, it being more expensive to pay the extra hour to the band - we are actually ending up not using the hour at all!
So.. I think for us it was a waiste!

We aren't adding an hour, we are doing it w/the cake. We are having our wedding CH starting at 7, so to add another hour would make our guests leave at 1am. We would also have to pay the DJ, etc. I say add it, but don't add the extra hour!
