I forgot to ask both the baker and the RH how it works with a grooms cake and the wedding cake. The grooms cake is going to feed 50 and the wedding cake would feed all guests.
Would the guests have a choice of which cake they would like to eat?

Re: Ladies who have done/will have a grooms cake
I don't know for a fact but I would assume no. Usually with cake they just cut and serve so if the cake had different flavors guests wouldn't get a choice.

i dont think so.. they get the RH.. i'd prob serve the Grooms cake to my immediate family and bridal party in addition to the piece they get from the RH

Re: Ladies who have done/will have a grooms cake
for my RH - everyone got a slice of each on their plate. No choices to be made....just made life easier.
For you - since you are doing a smaller grooms' cake...that's rough. You may have to ask if the waitstaff can go around and ask a chocolate or vanilla question....but then you have to be prepared that you may have more people want the grooms' cake than the wedding cake....

I decided to give fh the groomacake at the rehearsal dinner to avoid any confusion and to keep it intimate.

im hoping that since the grooms cake is a different flavor (carrot), not too many people will want it.
