Ladies with a plat. engagement ring

I was looking at my ring and I see little scratches on the bottom of the band. I have only had it for 5 MONTHS. I know plat scratches easy BUT this quickly. Does anyone else have any scratches? I'm always checking my ring. I'm a fanatic.

My ring has scratches too. It drives me nuts! I think you can take it to a jeweler to buff it out.

I do and it *****! I think im gonna go get it buffed or something next time i go to the jeweler

Yes, I have stratches...It's going to happen. That's how you can tell a newly engaged person from one who isn't. Go get it buffed.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's still nice and shiney not dull. But I hate those scratches! It's not like anyone can see them but me. It still makes me mad!
I think I'll go see about getting it buffed.

I had a huge chunck of the back of my riing missing ( I took a small tumble ) and then the center stone came loose ( after 3 weeks) but I juts got it back from 'dr.' and it is looks new.

OMG... I would of cried. That's horrible! I can't believe that happened. I'm glad you got it fixed but I'm still thinking that shouldn't of happened. Keep an eye on it.

My ring was really scaratched the 2nd day I had it! Of course I was in Disney world climbing in and out of rides, etc, so that may have made a difference. I also wore it on another disney trip and to the beach in ft. lauderdale. it's taken a LOT of abuse and seen a lot of miles. it's ridiculously scractched on the bottom, but it really comes with the territiry for platinum. That's why some people get a platinum/white gold mix, it's harder. Part of the whole idea of platinum though, isntead of white gold, is aside form it being more valuable, it takes on a glow over time (think of you grandma's silverware). if you constantly polish it, yuo kind of defeat the purpose of getting platinum, and you also lose metal

Platinum is a softer (more expensive) metal and tends to scratch easily. You could get it polished, but it will continue to get scratched.

I actually fell too, and though my ring isn't quite as damaged as the above poster's, there are some scratches on the bottom of my band that I can feel when I run my finger over it. I'll probably get it buffed sometime over the next year. Other than that there are little scratches here and there, but it's still shiny and I like that.

I have a WG rign and it still has a few tiny little scratches.....i think no matter the metal..its on the bottom of your hand and takes more abuse than we realize so its bound to have a few tiny scratches!

the back of my ring has all sorts of scratches on it... but my friends ring, which is white gold, has the same exact thing... so i tihnk it happens no matter what!

my ring also has scratches, but you can have it buffed and cleaned and it will look like brand new-- I just had mine donefor free.

I definitely have scratches!! I bothers me but what can ya do, ya know? I think I am going to have them buffed.
