... can you still curl your hair with curling iron and the curl last?
I want to have bouncy curls for my wedding day, but want my hair straight (japanese) for the honeymoon..
Please let me know. TIA

Re: Ladies with Japanese thermal reconditioning......
My hair will be wavy for my wedding and I had the Japanese straightening done. However, i've heard many girls who had it done complain that their hair wouldn't hold a curl after. Everyones hair is different.

My hair doesn't hold a curl at all. When I do it wavy it only lasts about a half an hour or so.

my hair will not hold a curl. I did an updo w/ barrel type curls so the curls were all pinned down so it stayed perfectly all night but I knew there was no way of wearing it down b/c my hair is pin straight after getting Japanese straightening, not even a bit wavy.

Noooo! if you want curls in your hair, I highly recommend not getting the thermal reconditioning. I had it a few years back and could not get my hair to curl at all, not even the ends.
And this is coming from a girl who has very curly hair like Mel. B aka scary spice
Why don't you look into something like the Brazilian keratin treatment which is also less damaging.

I have curly hair... I'm looking to relax mine just a little bit, to get the kink out. That Brazilian treatment, is it a straightener or is it a relaxer? Where do you get it done?? Thanx!

From what I heard its supposed to a healthy treatment for hair rather than a damaging chemical. I got it done by this brazilian hairstylist, Sueli, you can find her info at http://www.braziliankeratinny.com/
I did a lot of research before I got it done because it does get some criticism for the small amounts of formaldehyde that the treatment uses to straight the hair. There are some stylist who use formaldehyde-free treatments, however it's really the formaldehyde that makes the hair so straight.
It last up to 3 mo. and cost me around $450 for a little longer than shoulder length hair

I had my hair curled for my brother's wedding. It held the curl for a few hours, but by the end of the night it was nearly straight.
