*Ladies with Student Loans--HELP!*

So i just got the repayment plans from my masters.....

so i have to repay from my masters

and

from my undergrad...

My masters is from Citbank and my undergrad is from ACS...before spending hours on the phone i thought i would ask, did anyone consolidate???and if so, how do you do this???? thanks much!
xo

UPDATE! thanks ladies!!!! i went to that website christine told me about...I called....and for me, if i was to consolidate the monthly pymt would be half....but the amount of intrest and prinicipal i would have to pay is almost as much as the loan itself....so this is a no for me!

thanks though!

I consolidated everything through SallieMae. I don't remember how i did it cuz it was 5 years ago.

BUT

I think cuz of the economy a lot of lenders aren't allowing you to consolidate right now. That's what I've heard anyway.

Re: *Ladies with Student Loans--HELP!*

you can ONLY consolidate through the Federal Government now. call ACS and ask them for the info, i don't have it on me. but bc of the economy this is the only way.....it wasn't bad just took about 6 weeks for them to complete all the paperwork.

I am consolidating through the gov as well..
i'm in the middle of doing this app, and actually now is the best time, interest is low.

I did it through the gov, the process was very easy and made my month payments a lot less, but in the end im going to be paying a lot more $$ o well.

One of the things that I did to pay off my student loans was take out a 0% interest credit card for 15 months (American Express), and put as much as I knew I could pay off in that amount of time unto the card from the loan. This helped cut interest costs.

I didn't consolidate my loans, but on my most recent statement, I saw that my interest rate for my Undergrad loans went wayy down.. which I was happy about

I don't think FH did this, but after 1-3 years (I forget) of paying the minimum balance each consecutive month, his interest went down a whole percent!!
