Re: Ladies....I lost.......

I started with WW and decided that was too much work. (lazy b!tch that I am)

I kicked up the gym by adding another day. I cut my portions in half and believe it or not did not eat smart ones frozen entrees like I was doing. I found that if I ate just a sandwich for lunch (grilled chicken in a wrap with L&T) for example, yogurt/granola for bfast and a sensible dinner that was portion controlled it worked better for me. The smart ones or lean cuisines would leave me hungry in two hours.

I also eat a lot of turkey burgers...I should call my diet the turkey burger diet. I eat them on half a toasted pita and veggies.

Once big thing that keeps me full is soup. I eat non-creamy soups at least once a day now that the weather is cold.

Lastly, I bought polly-o string cheese and I have that as a snack after lunch time to avoid the snacking pitfalls..I'm a big afternoon snacker.

I have about 20 more pounds to go. This took me almost 6 weeks. It will probably take me longer to lose the next 10. I'm gaining muscle weight but my clothes fit so much better.

Thats great - we eat very similarly, only I am vegan, so I will either eat soy cheese, or something else vegan and protein-y, and I eat boca burgers instead of turkey burgers!!!

The reason those lean cuisine werent working for you is that they are salty and devoid of becessary nutrients - that hunger you felt was your body craving nutrients - you replaced it with high fiber and high protein choices, and your body went - ahhhh... thank you - now we are full ,and we can comfortably let you lose weight!

Well, I have cut back. I didn't cut it out though. But I'm finding that less alcohol gets me loopy now.

Now I'm psyched...I consider you a nutrition, fit person...This just started working for me and I'm keeping with it. I didn't eliminate sugar though but I don't use artificial sweetener..that makes me nuts.

Very little soda..tons of water.

My doctor and I had a conversation about weight loss and he simply said...get exersize. No matter what diet you are on, if you get off the couch you will be better off. I'm taking a health approach rather than a weight loss approach.

The best thing about exercise is that you communicate to yourself your efforts this way, if that makes sense. So, if you are dieting wihtout exercise, its easier to splurge on chips or cookies, but, when you diet AND exercise, you think - No way - I am working too hard here.

Also, I feel when I exercise I am in tight clothes in front of a mirror. there is no escaping what I look like then, so that is a constant reminder to me as well....

ETA: With all this losing weight - I just saw the pic of your cat, and he looks just like mine - he lies on his back with his huge white belly exposed - mine is over 20 pounds - yours seems about there as well - SOOO cute!!!

you are so right. Also, my kitty is 23 lbs. That's K.C. I have Max and he is about 17 lbs. I have a picture of one of them sitting on a case of Corona light and the other sitting on my treadmill...it's too funny.
