hey girls so i went with my FH's step mom and his 2 step sisters today dress shopping.. one sister is 10 the other is 17.. they are not in my BP, and let me just give u some back ground... FH didnt always get along with his step mom..not terrible but not greattt..until again recently things have been great...but FH's real mom passed away when he was a child..sooo he doesnt want his step mom like 'taking the place of his mother' for the wedding.. he has a much older sister who he will be dancing with and stuff..but his step mom WILL be in many pics..so we went to estelles today..and no offense but she is from Chile and doesnt know much about weddings here..and she was looking at like prom dresses!!! my wedding is 11/6/11 and she kept saying she loves pink and was like looking at magenta dresses...also my mom is wearing blue so she doesnt want anyone else wearing blue and my BM's r purple so i dont want her wearing that either..soo today she tried on a red red dress from estelles..it is simple but pretty...but idk can she wear red?? is that okay? it has like tank top kind of sleeves..i cant explain it..but like that thickness..and it is chiffon and has a brooch on the shoulder with rhinestones and the back like drapes in a U shape..and she has a shall with it..also her budget was very low..so i didnt have much to work with.. but basically..is red ok?? she only has 5 days to make an exchange if she wants..HELP!!!!

I don't think there's anything wrong with red as long as the dress looks nice on her. I'd rather her wear red than CHAMPAGNE (read: almost white )

Think about it this way- you have no control over what everyone at your wedding wears. Our BM dress color was blue. I can't even count how many guests wore blue (I didn't care though nothing I could do) plus my mom wore dark blue AND MIL wore a purple/blue. Everyone was in blue! I'd just let her wear red. No one will be looking at her anyway!

I think it will be okay, if you are worries, maybe you can steer her towards a more cranberry color but either way, I think Red is fine.
