Lands End Anyone?

Ok....so im pretty new on the board... long story short..original plans were to be married in st. thomas, however been thinking about just doing it on LI due to guests & the price it would be for them to travel to our wedding....so...i went down to lands end & making an appointment with Crescent Beach club... anyone have any expieriences with either... thanks :)

I am getting married at Lands End in August. So far the experience has been amazing. We went to a wedding event and the food was great, and we have our tasting next month already. Not to mention anyone I tell I am getting married there has only 100% positive things to say about it. FH's friend got married there before we knew them, so we didn't go to the wedding, but he is so excited to be going back for ours. He said he had one complaint about his wedding, and that was that the wait staff was so attentive they kept refilling his glass with his drink of choice every time he turned around, so he had no idea how much he drank and got crocked. Not a bad complaint. I couldn't be happier with my choice of venue.

They use their own bakery, Audrey's Bake Shop. I had them do my engagement cake too and it was beautiful and tasty. (Pics in my e-party album). All our desserts for the party came from there. People complimented them all night and I have never seen dessert fly off a table that fast.

Hi, I had my wedding at Lands End. I cannot tell you how amazing they were and EVERYONE has been raving how it was the best wedding they've ever been to. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Everything was exceptional. (there are pics in my album)

I also looked at Crescent. I really liked it there also. My husband didn't like it as much b/c it has a restaurant attached. Land's End is on its own - so you know your party is the only one there. The crescent's restaurant has a balcony so the diners can look down at your party - which is OK but a little weird. It didn't bother me, but it bothered my husband a lot - which is party of why we went w/Land's End.

We saw Crescent too, it was really nice but we were sooo put off by the BM's attitude, we were treated really rudely for 99% of our visit to see it (until she overheard me loudly complaining that they were out of their minds if they thought we'd book there after they ignored us/responded rudely to questions... then she suddenly got nicer). It was a nice place but I worried if I would still like the place if it rained that day, it's centered around the outdoor space. AND they try to boast their appeal about 1 wedding at a time, but they have a restaurant that stays open during the wedding and the patrons can look out over your wedding right above the cocktail area. Her explanation for the restaurant was that the owner likes to go there to have dinner and that they don't do much business with the restaurant... which didn't make us feel any better about it.

we are getting married at lands end july 2010 and we couldnt be more excited! We had looked at many places before, and when we walked into lands end, we just knew it was the place. Definitely go and check it out for yourself!
