Lands End brides - help with timeline!

Lands End brides - help with timeline!

Hi everyone! We are coming up to NY for the tasting at Lands End on March 16 (anyone else??) and I am starting to stress about the other things we need to do with them...especially anything that involves another trip up, as we already have most of those planned already.

Woud someone please advise as to how many meetings you had (if you're already married) or have to have at Lands End, and whether they are accommodating about meeting on weekends, as that is the only time FH and I can go.

I am specifically trying to figure out the following:

-I know we taste on 3/16 but when do we decide on the menu? And what about the cake? Is that part of the tasting too?

-When do we see/decide on table linens and such?

-What else am I forgetting??

Thanks!!
Alison

Hi Alison!

Don't worry, they are very accomodating. We live in NJ so we can only see them on weekends too.

Our wedding is March 28 and we had our menu finalization the first week of January. We went over everything then.

We picked out the entire menu. I brought a picture of the cake we wanted. She showed us how to do the seating arrangement. We asked for any specific alcohol, and we picked table linens. She even asked us how we wanted the napkins folded! They are very thorough. She took all our vendors' names and numbers. And we went over how many BMs and GMs. Who would be doing toasts, if we want to be introduced, and who all of our things should be given to at the end of the night.

Nothing was left out. So we had everything done in the one meeting. We just have to set up a date to drop off our seating cards, card holder, toasting flutes, etc. a couple of days before.

Good luck!!

Thanks! So how far in advance did you set up the meeting? And how long did it take? You were able to do it on a Sat or Sun? That's good! We live in DC so that's really our only option. Who are you working with over there, if you don't mind my asking? We are working with Gina and even though she is extremely professional, I sometimes get the feeling she doesn't want to be bothered with our problems...

Alison - we always met with them on weekends also. I think we set up the menu the last weekend in March - so about 4 weeks prior.

We worked with Gina in the beginning, but Jennifer when finalizing the details and menu. Jennifer was very friendly and pleasant to deal with.

Re: Lands End brides - help with timeline!

We happened to be there mid December since I was visiting my mother and stopped in with a payment. So they asked us since we were there if we wanted to set up our menu appt. The appt took about an hour and a half I think.

We're working with Jennifer now. We had been working with Gina, but she has been promoted to a position with Lovin Oven as a whole. I did get a different feeling from Gina. Jennifer is great. I really like her and I feel very comfortable with her. She doesn't think I'm crazy when I ask questions like 'what do the table numbers look like' and 'can I see a sample menu you put on the tables?'

for the cake, we made a separate appt at Audreys and booked it there. I recommend it - they give you tastings too

we did details like linens and colors in late Feb.

These dates were coordinated with our travel plans - they weren't dates set by LE.

Oh interesting...I wonder if Jennifer will become our new contact too...? Gina hasn't said anything to that effect, but I can't say that I would mind all that much...

Lisat or others...did you go taste the cake at Audrey's before or after your final meeting at LE? Does LE not let you taste otherwise??
