Lands End Brides: When did you do/are you doing the food tasting??
Calling all Lands End brides, past and present...
Do you know when you will be doing your food tasting, or, if you already had it, when did you do it?
Since I am planning from over 300 miles away, I am concerned about being able to get up to NY on a convenient weekend to be able to do the tasting, especially if we want both sets of parents to join us (my fiance's parents live near us).
When I last spoke with Gina, she said the next tastings were tentatively scheduled for a Sunday in January -- the day after I have oral surgery, so, needless to say I can't make that one -- and a Saturday in February, which is exactly one week AFTER I am going to be in NY for a conference. D'oh!!

Gina scheduled a private tasting for us since we were also planning long distance (from CA) and couldn't attend our 'scheduled one'. She was able to do it on an evening that had a party coming in so they were preparing food for that night.
We had it in Feb for an April 27th wedding.

I am getting married at Flowerfield...same caterer as Lands End! I was told that they would arrange a special tasting for me since I am also planning long distance.

We had ours Sept. 12. It was fabulous! We also had both sets of parents join us and it was a very nice night. Good luck!

What night of the week did they arrange it for you on? It's very odd, because when I asked Gina about a private tasting, she said she didn't do them. Maybe it's because we're still within driving distance...??

It was on a Saturday at 5. We couldn't make our scheduled tasting, so she asked us to give her a list of days we'd be in NY. She picked a day that worked for them since they had an event coming in and food was being prepared. It was just the 6 of us - Al and I, and our parents.
(just got an email from Nicole forwarding your message about Cornell and coincidences - too funny).

I spoke with Gina the other day and it sounds like she'll do her best to accommodate us, one way or another.
Also got an email from Nicole...it really IS a small world!
