It is FANTASTIC!!! Basically, they set up the ballroom with all different kinds of linens and centerpieces so you can get an idea of what you may want. Then, they bring out a variety of samples from every course of the meal. You can have any drinks you want...and they also give you some options of cakes and other desserts. It's a fun day!

I already did my cake sampling from Audrey's and it was awesome!!! We liked so many different combinations, we are doing different flavors each layer and have a cake station as part of the Viennese Hour instead of serving it to the table so people can choose.
But so very much looking forward to seeing Land's End this weekend!!!
Kat- what is the dress code?? Should we dress nicely?

Hey Lands End Brides! I'm new to the forums! My reception will be at Lands End this October!
We haven't done our food tasting yet. Are they typically on Sunday's? And I would also love to know how to dress for it also!
I'm Happy to see other Land's End brides on here! It's perfect! We just fell in love with it when we saw it! I'm sure you all did also! I'm so excited to hear about your weddings! :)

You don't need to get dressed up, but don't look like a slouch. :)
Jennie, did you call Audrey's to set up a cake tasting? Did you have to pay for it?

Nope! Just make sure you tell them you are a Land's End bride it was free! We did buy a few cupcakes while we were there though. lol! couldn't resist!

Just wondering because I am getting married at Flowerfield.... How many entrees do they let you try? Do you get to try cocktail hour food? Any suggestions for the stations?

They don't do the cocktail hr food at the tasting. If you go to one of their showcases you can try alot of it.

Hi Ladies,
Are any of you having uplighting at lands end? I'm torn, I love the venue the way it is, but I think maybe some uplights would give it more umph... But I don't want it to look very cluby.
I will be meeting with the florist to go over the ceiling options, and I believe we can get some lighting/crystals in the ceiling.
My FH thinks it would be nice to have the uplighting on one wall (where the dj is).
What are you doing with the lighting??

first off, OMG the food was soooooo good!!! You ladies who are going this weekend are in for a treat!!! My favs were the chilean sea bass (YUM) and the Chicken succotash!!! And for first course, the mushroom strudel...and i don't even like mushrooms!! haha Picking the first course/combo course has been the hardest for us.
Secondly, I am having uplighting in the whole room! I think it looks great! I am using Prestige lighting events. They have some pictures of Land's End with uplighting on their website. Talk to Glenn and tell him I sent you! He's really nice!!
