Lands End or North Ritz Club???
Well girls, I thought my mind was set on Lands End. I just went today to finish up looking and i looked at The Crescent Club and wasn't impressed. I then looked at the North Ritz Club and was not expecting to like it. Well, it turns out that i really liked it. I am impressed with the menu and the fact that i would be the only bride. I am torn between Lands End and North Ritz. My sister got married at Lands End so I am leaning towards North Ritz, but I am not sure if I like the location of it. Also, It is hard to visualize the finished product without pictures of the North Ritz. Thanks for any info (good or bad) you guys can provide!!

North Ritz Club (long)
i vote for north ritz club ( i am biased though i booked there) i went looking at about 10 places before i saw the n.r.c. and fell in love the moment i walked in the place is all brand new and has the most amazing staircase for photos. To top it off it is a one bride facility and i would be the only one there (that made my fiance feel good because he does not like the factory setting that most halls have he feels like we get better service if we are the only ones there) The menu selections are great they offered more food in the cocktail hour and the entree selections were great. Plus they were very workable with the menu if we had any changes we wanted to make...i met with dennis he was very helpful he even offered us a food tasting (the only thing was that i had to sign a contract, but if i did not like the food he did say that i could get my money back that i gave in the deposit) I did not have my food tasting yet but i did see one bride online that is booked there that did have one and said the food was good....well i hope that i helped you in your decision....if you have any questions feel free to ask me....good luck and congrats!!!!!

North Ritz Club???
I am getting married there in October. Honestly, when I went back for a second look I thought it was a long shot. But something about the whole place to myself and the people that I dealt with there gave me such a good feeling. I know it is really hard to judge the North Ritz b/c it is an unfinished product. But what I can tell you is everything they promised me so far has come true (in the timeframe they promised) and they have been impressive. I booked in May of 2001 and at that point there was no spiral staircase, no bridal suite, the cocktail hour barroom was unfinished, no elevator, etc. I took my chances and they have done so much and everytime I go back I get more and more impressed. Not telling you to book there, that's a personal choice but I figured I would share my experience. If you want more info let me know... Good Luck.

Angie - I think I am the bride!
I went to the food tasting over the summer...they offered me the same deal about getting my deposit back if I was unhappy. I liked the food a lot. They had the cocktail hour room set up like a wedding and they had pass arounds, shafing dishes, a dessert table then a sit down dinner which included a salad with roasted veggies and the main course of a sample of a chicken, beef and fish entree!

I booked the North Ritz Club also!
I am so happy to see that more brides are interested in the North Ritz Club. It is very beautiful. The moment I walked into the place I knew I wanted my wedding there. I met with Christina and she was very helpful and accomodating. I love the fact that I am the only bride and everyone is working for my party only. I love the very elegant and classy look the North Ritz Club has and did not find that anywhere I looked. I definately recommend the North Ritz to all brides. PS. I went to visit the place on Tuesday and saw that the Gardens are getting worked on.

Thanks Girls!
I hope that the pictures come in soon. Christina said that they have pictures of the food presentation, and what the grounds a re going to look like. Ihope Jericho TPKE. is covered up from within the grounds. If anyone has a menu set with the NRC, did they throw in Vianese (?) platters or anything for that matter?

when i went to sign i threw out that i would like the viennesse table and christina talked to the general manager and he threw it in for us...that was actually really great because i did not expect it....if you think that you are going to book there give it a shot...you don't have anything to loose.

Lands End or North Ritz Club???
lands end where is that? are they a one bride place? i did go to the north ritz club; what kind of package did they give you?. I am stuck between four places the north ritz club, westbury manor, villa lombardis and the carlyle. my fh says that i have to make up my mind soon so things could start falling into place (easy enough for a person who only says 'whatever you want' ) good luck

Lands End
I am getting married there in 4 months...how time has flew...If you don't want to get married at the same place as your sister, then I would got to the NOrth Ritz, BUT land's End is just amazing... The caterer Lovin Oven has a spectacular menu, the grounds are beautiful (NRC does not have much), plenty of service staff (1 per table), top quality everything...down to Sam Adams on tap...and I heard from a former employee that every Monday they go over the entire place with Qtips if they have to...Its just fabulous.. good luck in deciding...

grounds @ north ritz
i have never been to lands end but in defense of the north ritz it does have a lot of grounds that are going to be redone (not that they look bad now) Dennis said they are going to do some enhancements throughout their garden area, and when my fiance went to make a payment last mos. he saw all of them outside measuring stuff.. Like bridetobe said that everything that they said would be done was done in the timeframe she was given...just a little faith...

Lands End or North Ritz Club???...Jmal
I agree! My fiance isn't much of a help either. Lands End is in Sayville. You are the only bride. It is right on the water. The food is delicious. They do a great wedding. My sister got married there and everything was perfect. I don't like that in NRC folder, on the paper where everything is included, they spell coat attendant wrong. They put coat attendent. I think I am being to hard on them about this. I am so confused!

Lands End...Yabbobay
Yabbobay Lands End is great! Congratulations! You will have a beautiful wedding. May I ask how much per head are you paying at Land End? What day are you getting married? Did they throw anything in for you? Thanks!

Yeah...I am glad to hear about the grounds....
I just want to get the Turnpike covered! Grounds aren't that important to me but I do hate the turnpike thing. I got the whole vienesse hour thrown in..without even asking...I was just inquiring about the cost....I am also having a seafood bar at the cocktail hour for a really good price. When I went back for a second look, I think they knew I was serious and just tried their best to get me....but you have to remember I went in May/June 2001....they were dying to land customers then to build their reputation. Seems like it is working b/c I have been on this board for a little less than a year and I am so happy that they have soo much talk about them over the last month! I was the only NRC bride for the longest time.

Yeah...I am glad to hear about the grounds....
Wow that is really good that they threw that in for you. I just want the platters. Hopefully I can get that. I am going back to look on Wednesday. I hope the turnpike is covered also. That is a major thing for me! Thanks

Lands End or North Ritz Club???
i think that mispelling is not their fault usually the printer who did the menus...but that is the least you should worry about...i narrowed my choices down to the north ritz club and carlyle. my fiance says that i have up until saturday to make my decision (this is a man that took 3 months to decide what kind of car to buy...haha!) well good luck and keep me posted...hey when you go back on wednsday ask for the viennese and tell me what they say i want to know if they would throw something in for me as well....isn''t great that we have eachother.

Lands End or North Ritz Club??? Food Tasting
i think that bridetobe went to a food tasting there...dennis is arranging for mine...they put a clause in your contract that if you don't like the food that they will give your deposit back to you and your contract would be null and void...and it is free...speak to the person that helped you and they should arrange something for you....

Land's End has been great...We are having a Sunday afternoon wedding at $115 pp min 150 people...They weren't really flexible about the price...unless I wanted in Nov-March...then they said they could help out...I did call in September to see if I could switch to a Sat and they said that they were all booked...so it does go quickly... If you can guarantee 185 at $140pp you can have the whole place the whole day... if you have any other questions feel free to email me... [email protected]

I went to the North Ritz food tasting in July of last year....I posted about it earlier in this thread. I liked everything. Food was one of our priorities. We want a huge cocktail hour with lots of good food. We added the seafood bar to the cocktail hour and we are also having the viennese hour. For dinner we are having the salad that has tomato and mozzerella and roasted veggies, then pasta, intermezzo and main course (didn't decide yet). PS My fiance is 100% Italian from a very Italian family too and was very happy with everything.Welcome New Vendors
