Land`s End report

thanks for the update. we our having a july 2002 wedding at lands end. 1 question for you, did it seem croweded during cocktail hour (was there ample space and seating?) - just thinking in case it does rain. the main bathrooms (womens) in the reception room are really big (either 3-4 stalls). they are centrally located and not far from any table in the room. the bathroom that you mentioned (i think in the cordial room) is a one room bathroom that many people will probably not use. you have to leave the reception room, walk into the cordial room to go to the bathroom - right? why not just use the main bathroom? unless you were seated near the glass wall of the bar in the reception room, it would be easier to use the 1 room bath. thanks again for you post. if you happen to remember, can you tell me what type of centerpieces they had. the ceilings are really high, so it is probably best to use high centerpieces, but we like the floating bowl candle/flower look.

thanks again!

Land`s End report

The cocktail hour lines were kind of crowded, but there was enough room to stand around. There were not enough chairs for everyone, but it did not bother me. I stood in the bar area and used the ledge across from it to hold my drink. Usually the cocktail hour is for mingling and people do not mind standing if they can rest their plate somewhere. I guess it was the cordial room where I used the bathroom. I sat right outside the door from it by the mirror (which was so clean a few drunk people actually walked into it- LOL). When I asked the girl next to me where the bathroom was, that is where she told me to go. Only after seeing one stall did I realize it was not the main bathroom. Like I said, it was not a big deal. Just wanted to give you things to mention to them beforehand to prevent problems. I think people went into that room to smoke, so that bathroom was used quite often. The centerpieces were low and round on the round tables, and low an oval on the oval tables. I think the low centerpieces were fine and looked beautiful. She used Laura''s Floral Elegance because Laura is the cousin of the groom. They had ivy bowls with a floating flower at cocktail hr. Good luck!
