Re: Large metal lanterns

Initially, we were going to make our own lantern centerpieces.

We bought 14 giant ones (they were about 22 inches high and 10 or so inches wide) from home goods. However, we went to about 9 different stores to get them all.

In the end, we had to return them all because it we figure we didn't want the added stress of making our centerpieces.

OMG!!

What were you going to do to them? were you going to decorate them or anything? I was just gonna throw some silk butterflies or something and a candle and call it a day, but was thinking i might spray paint them too, Our wedding is outside and Im hanging the mini ones in the yard......

That's so funny I have the same ones. I love them and no they are not too modern.

Re: Large metal lanterns

The plan was too stick a large pillar candle (12 by 4), in a large vase (14 inches high) inside the lantern. On the outside, we were going to lay 2 square mirrors (one on each side), and place 3 votives on each mirror. It would have been simple to do, but the transporting of all the materials was what led to the downfall of the whole plan. The lanterns were huge, the candles were heavy, and the vases were extremely fragile. To this day, I really wish we could have but it just was going to be very difficult.

I think the ones that you are looking at are gorgeous.
