Larkfield Manor??

My Fiance and I are just about ready to pick our place. We're 99% going to pick the Larkfield Manor and the other 1% is split between the Woodbury CC and The Thatched Cottage. Anyone have any suggestions?? Anything i should know about Larkfield before I book it?

I booked Larkfield as well, I also looked at the other places you were thinking of!. I just loved Larkfield. I just went for a food tasting and the food is amazing! There was a wedding going on at the time and the place looked so beautiful.

I looked at both larkfield manor and thatched cottage... I thought Larkfield was beautiful! But I just felt more at home at thatched. Only two things I didnt like at larkfield was the more then one wedding at a time thing (though I heard you barely know there is another affair going on) and I didn't like that they wouldn't do a tasting with out a deposit. I believe they give it back if you decide you don't like the food but I just didn't like it. Go for a tasting at thatched to see if you like it, might help with your decision. Either way I don't think you could go wrong with either place! Best of luck and congrats!!!

we had our reception at Larkfield and it was wonderful.there are pics in my album and a slideshow in my video lib of Larkfield for photos, food and reception room (smaller one).
The food is phenomenal. You don't need to worry about doing a deposit and getting it back - - you will be satisfied.

We went there and meet with the owner and watched the video which i loved watching. A turn of for us was sitting and watching the guest of one wedding leave while the other bride was comming in the door it was a big turn off since it was hectic. At the time there was one valet around 5:30 and he appeared not professinal. I did think they gave you lot for your money. Prior to going i spoke with a friend who went to a wedding there and said they did not replenish cocktail hour timely(she's a chef) and i did ask when we went and he said this would never happen(it was prob an off day.) I would like to add that i have to say that of all the places we went the wait staff was older and mature compared to many high end locations.

my sister got married at larkfield 5 years ago and I thought it was amazing. The food was so good and the place was so nice. I didnt go there since I didn't want the same place as my sis plus I heard it was under new ownership. Honestly though we only had good things to say about the place and would reccomend it.

the new ownersw bought the place Mar 2005. They have pretty much redecorated the entire place and are also redoing the landscaping. alot is finished but i think they might be looking to improve a bit more.

They have done an outstanding job and from what I hear, I think it's even better than in the past.

I loved the Larkfield Manor. I would have booked it but we decided to stick with Nassau County as our place for the reception. I say go for it.

if u are worried about the 2 bride thing just ask them to put it in your contract that only one bride at a time this was very important to me and fh and now we dont have to worry

I looked at Larkfield and Woodbury. I love them both. You cant go wrong with either. Woodbury has better grounds but the people at larkfield rocked. As for the thatched cottage. Totally not into the low ceilings and how far the bar/size of dance floor. Good luck with whatever you choose!
