I went to Larkfield today and met George. I LOVE him. I truly do. He is such a nice guy. He made all of my worries disappear. Im so happy
I also saw the new carpet. It looks very nice. It is a light brown, with a rectangular design right in the middle by the piano. This is a deeper color. I think it has blues and greens in it. Its really pretty.
Also, they have two new sign right by the entrance way that says Larkfield Manor. I liked these the best. They are pretty and now my guests wont miss the entrance!
They also had the dance floor redone. At least, they had the one in the Manor room done. I am not sure about the other room.
They are also supposed to have the carpets redone in the cocktail hour rooms and the bridal suites, but Im not sure when.
Also, they now have oval tables. There not in yet, but Harry told me that if I wanted the round tables, we could write it in the contract. I am going to go in to see the oval tables, but I am almost def. going to use the round.
Good luck girls. Lets make sure to keep everyone posted!

YAY, I'm so happy now. I've heard a lot of good things about George!
Thanks for the tip on the oval tables. I want round tables b/c our wedding is smaller and I like the intimate feel of the round. I'll make sure we get that in the contract.
Any idea if the Chef is still the same as when we had our tastings??

Hello girls!
According to George the chef is the same. That was one of the first questions we asked and we had food there about two weeks ago and it was delicious! It was just as good if not better than the wedding I went to there about two years ago. I don't think you have anything to worry about!

Re: Larkfield Manor Brides
I heard there are a lot of changes going on there. I'm new to the boards and found these chat boards extremely informatative. I'm having my wedding there and I'm nervous about some of the changes. Figured I could find some stuff out on here.
Edited to say...DONT WANT VENDORS CONTACTING ME!!!! I was warned about that by my friend who goies on here. So yeah- I'm getting married in '2011'

I know for sure that the chef is the same. The chef's wife is one of FH's customers and she assured him that her husband still works there. He has been with them for a long long time.

I wouldnt be.. this woman has nothing to gain by lying to FH about her husband working there. If you feel strongly about it why don't you call them and ask?
When are you getting married there?

I heard that it is definetely the same chef. I will call later on because I have to talk to Lisa, and I will double check, but I dont think there is anything to worry about (at least I hope not)

Re: Larkfield Manor Brides
OK- I just heard one of them is gone....and there were only two main chefs to begin with. I hope my food is the same as at my food trial. I knew this was gonna happen. And this was what won over my parents b/c they were not crazy about the place- but said the food was amazing.
I knew I shoulda listened to my girlfriend when she said to stay off this site, that I would only drive myself nuts. Now I'm addicted, and need to know info. And the answer to your question before...December!

Ask for a second food tasting. I am sure if you express your concerns they will meet your requests, especially if you already booked your wedding with them. Good luck!

I'm actually afraid to ask. I heard they are nasty. I called there and got a guy with an accent who could hardley give me the time of day.
