Larkfield Manor Review

Went to a wedding there last night and thought I'd share a small review of the place for any gals getting married there!

Food was AMAZING! I did not know what to expect at Larkfield. Ive never been before the renovations. But the food was seriously good. Cocktail was amazing- everyone was raving about the scallops!

For dinner my girlfriend did buffet. I liked it (and had thought at one point we wanted to do that for our wedding) but boy was it a lot of food! It felt like we had 2 cocktail hours (which everyone loved just too much food for me to eat! I was too full to really enjoy!) PS- the sweet potatoes were to die for!

For dessert my frined did a cannoli bar- cute idea!

The room was gorgeous! (I dont know which one it was?)

The only thing. when we entered the room - the first 45 minutes the room was to bright until my friend had to ask them to dim the lights more.

Nik17 question how was the flow of the buffet. We are considering it but worried that the layout in the big room wouldn't work. What did you think?

Sorry I have no pics! (Im horrible! LOL)

@seashells622- Buffet was great- the tables were set up from the beginning- we ate around the same time you would eat for a sit down dinner. And they set up two big stations of all kinds of food on two sides of the room...lines were not too bad!

Nik17. Was the food the same on both sides? We are so unsure what we want to do sit down or buffet. I would love the foods to be mirrored on both sides so guest are no crossing the dance floor to see what's on the other side. Decisions decisions!

Food was NOT the same. And I think this confused people. I heard a lot of friends the next morning say they had no idea the other side had different food! I was smart to check (or I wouldve missed the sweet potatoes! LOL)

Speaking of crossing dance floor- an FYI- if u do the cannoli bar- they set up the table in the MIDDLE of the dance floor- I thought that was weird!

Ok thanks. Yeah I tried explaining how I would like it to be mirrored but I don't think it's possible. So we might opt out of this as well. I have seen it done at my brothers wedding and I loved it. Thanks for answering my questions. I'll def see if I can taste those sweet potatoes you speak of.

They did the cannoli bar in the middle of the dance floor?? I'm doing that, so ill have to have them set it up somewhere else. It must've took time away from dancing right?!

How were the drinks? My mom complained that the drinks at the showcase was bad. I plan to talk to them about that when I have my meeting this month.

Larkfield Manor Review - Long Island Weddings

The guy we dealt with was the reason we did not book with them, and I really wanted to have our wedding there too since my parents got married there. The guy (he was young about 23) was degrading towards my parents when they said they got married there he was like yea well that was a long time ago (kind of saying that they are old) and he said a bunch of comments along those lines. Made my parents say no way. He was rude, not to me but to them...

We're using the larger ballroom for dinner and we definitely did not want the dessert arrangement to interfere with the dancing. So they mentioned that the desserts can be displayed in the room between the CH and Ballroom (which will be accessible during dinner already). So it'll be away from the dancefloor 'party' and easily accessible for everyone.

If your using the smaller Ballroom, then maybe the entrance foyer space can be used? Or the outer edges of the dancefloor?

I'm using the larger ballroom as well. I'm not doing a full venetian dessert hour, just cannoli bar and zeppolis. I def don't want it on the dance floor though. But I want to make sure people know it's available to them!

butrfly1rm- Yes cannoli bar was in the way of our dancing! I would def. request to move it off to side.

And drinks- I actually thought they had a good selection! Not sure if the bride and groom brought but they had Patron! Not many venues carry Patron! We were happy with drinks~!
