I had a very hard decision to make two weeks ago, regarding our venue o. My fiancee really liked Jericho Terrace, and we really liked Larkfield Manor, and he left the decision up to me. So I choose Larkfield Manor, because it is 15 minutes from the church, and I will be the only bride. I also choose Larkfield Manor because of their great food. Now I have learned that last weekend 50 people have gotten sick from their food! I am sooooooo I don't know what to do

i think because there has been food poisoning episodes there recently.... i would just contact your banquet manager to reassure you that on your wedding day everything will be cooked correctly.. if you are thinking about cancelling your RH i believe that suffolk county has a law which allows you to get a refund w/in 6 months but im not too sure..

Here's a link to another thread. Other girls have been posting about this all week. It's all good at Larkfield. Just call your BM if you are unsure. Thread

I wouldn't worry too much about it.
If all those people getting sick wasn't because of the food, then you have nothing to worry about.
If all of those people getting sick WAS because of the food, you can bet that everyone working at Larkfield Manor is going to be on the ball about everything from now on. So you really have nothing to worry about then either.

If you are really worried, there is a law that says you can get your money back before 6 mos of your date. BUt I'm sure it will be fine...I heard that report but I'm sure they don;t want to lose business, esp in this economy!, so they will make sure that the food from now on is fine. Call your BM for reassurance

My niece was at the party were some of the people got sick. I spoke to the Suffolk County Board of Health the other day when they called to interview her. They have not found any wrong doing on The Larkfield Manors part. They belive it was an isolated incident and are checking all the food vendors. Hope this makes you and all the other girls feel better!!! PS. My niece didn't get sick and loved the food!!

I think that by the time you get married they will have fixed what ever issues they are having. I would talk to the BM to have reassurance that all will be fixed. I'd keep an eye and ear open to what's going on, and ask why there is such a problem with the food lately. If the problems are not fixed soon get out while you can, but don't wait too long places book quickly, and you really can't plan unless you have a place for your ceremony and reception. Good luck!
