I've been to Acapulco twice for Spring Break. Honsetly, if I were you, I'd consider somewhere else for your honeymoon. It is not so nice and I wouldn't really consider it a honeymoon destination. I would try Cancun or Riviera Maya if you want Mexico...or Cabo!

but remember you cant swim at lots of the beaches at cabo bc of the undertow.
I heard riviera maya was beautiful.

Yea, there is a lot of crime going on right now in Mexico. However, most of it is occuring near the Mexico/US border and many of the resort areas are unaffected. I was there in November (Riviera Maya area) and there was no evidence of drug wars and everything seemed safe. We stayed on the resort except for 2 excursions which were run through American Express Travel.

I've been to Acapulco for spring break. Honestly it is not the kind of place I would go for a HM.

Don't go....not a honeymoon destination. I would look into Excelencia Playa Mujeres or the other areas already recommended.
