i made an appt for a consulation at american laser centers (because I like a lot of other people 'won' $300 off hair removal) has anyone actually done hair removal at this place? is it expensive for a bikini? where else is there to go and if you dont mind how much did you pay?
TIA

I didn't go to that place, but my dermatologist does it. I am absolutely no help either since I get it done for free. It's great though and you shouldn't tan beforehand and it may hurt a bit (like a rubber band being snapped). I talked to them about the bikini area and they did inform me that it would be more painful since we're more sensitive down there.

I won too! How funny. I'm going to go to the consultation and check it out. I've always wanted to do it and with the $300 now might be the time...

$300 will be a drop in the bucket for laser hair removal. They always run some sort of a 'promotion' but you still end up paying tons of $$$. BTW it does work so if it's something you really want then go for it.

I 'won' too and did go to the consultation down here (they have one near DC in Rockville MD). Even with the $300, it was wayyy to expensive, and it just didn't seem like it was worth it. It was also in a plain office building with no other doctors offices near it, and I just got the sense that the women doing the consultation were just giving me the sales pitch... I just didn't feel comfortable so told them I couldn't afford (which wasn't totally a lie) and said if things changed, I'd call them.

The dermatologist I work for has a tech that does it and she doesnt charge $2500 for a bikini. That seems like a real lot!

I WON TOO!!! how funny b/c i was thinking who else were 'winners' lol
i scheduled a free consultation, but over selpt and never went... i also heard it was a scam!!
if your looking for a good place to go for hair removal, Sandlewood Day Spa in massapequa does IPL hair removal and are REALLY reasonable!!! IPL is basically like lazer except they use 'intense light' instaed of lazer. i started treatement for my facial hair, but got lazy and only went for 2 treatments... i shoudl really go back! they were charging me $75 per treatment or $525 for 5 treatments (thats the suggested number of treatments)
but i highly recommend them!!

I can totally understand...I get a bit leery at stuff like that. Talk to the dermatologist and see what they say. If anything, you can go to a spa that is licensed to do that.

Re: laser hair removal (american laser centers)
i went to the consultation yesterday, and found that the $300 we all 'won' is actually something everyone gets who comes in and books them at their consultation... they also give you another 20% off on top of that. The Brazilian Extended which is removing EVERYTHING down there was $2300 and if anything grows back within 2 years they do as many more sessions as you need in those two years. The girl who did the consulation, Jackie, was very nice. I decided to go ahead and do it.. even though I know the money is a lot, but they have a financing plan to pay it off within one year with no fees. FH loves when im clean shaven down there so I figure its worth it.
if anyone is interested in the other bikini packages, the Brazilian which was two inches from the top, two inches from the sides for a little less than $2000 and there was the regular bikini which just the sides, for a little less than that. (sorry i cant remember the exact prices)

I 'won' too... and the lady who called (and emailed) me about it was really pushy about trying to get me to come in for my evaluation. After the fourth call I told her 'look unless it's $300 off a $300 or $400 process, I just don't have the money to waste with you... ' She stopped after that...
