Laser Vision Surgery

At the risk of sounding VEIN... I HATE HATE HATE MY GLASSES.....and I've done the contact thing and it didn't work well with my eye sight and I had to do away with them.... so I am thinking laser vision surgery before my wedding.. but I AM SCARED TO DEATH???
Anyone have it done??????

Any advice?

i recommend the TLC center. I know atleast 20 people that have had it done there and theyre all loved it.
im terrified too.

the new glaucoma test, they numb ur eye and put something ON ur eye and i almost cried i dont think i can do the laser lol im such a big baby though

i had it done 1 1/2 years ago at stahl in garden city and i LOVE it ...fh missed me wearing my glasses but i def dont miss being blind lol...i DEF recommend getting it done...if u go to stahl ask for dr humphnagel...me and my sister thought he did a great job !!

btw the surgerys over in minutes and its almost painless...they give u vikes to mellow u out and then pain meds for after...u can see right after the surgery.....go to stahl and they give u a free consultation to see if ur eligible and they also offer 2 years interest free financing ....im actually going back next week for a follow up!!!...good luck!!

I did it last March ay Lasik Plus in Westbury. I highly recommend them!! Dr Veruto is awesome!! It wa the best money I ever spent. I don't even remember what it feels like to wear glasses or contacts.

I went for a consult but I wasn't able to get it done b/c my precription change within the past year and they only do if its constant. I'm not a fan of wearing my glasses either but the contacts annoy me so I only wear them on occasion. I would love to have had the surgery before the wedding but i decided to wait until I am 30 to have it done. (they say your prescription usually doesn't change after you turn 25)

I know several people that have had it and they say it is the best thing they ever did. It is scary to me too but as long as you go to a reputable doctor you will be fine.

I heard TLC Eye Center is very good. They have a location in the city and one in LI too (I think Garden City)

The consults are free so you should see if you a candidate and ask them what ever questions you may have and then see if you still want to do it.

Hi I had it done 4 years ago at TLC center in Manhattan. I would definetly recommend it. It does not hurt at all. After surgery you will feel a bit discomfort as though you have an eyelash in your eye but that's all. You will need to keep putting drops in your eye to keep it moist at all times. I am so happy with my results.

My FH was thinking about getting it done. Do you mind me asking where you went and how much it cost?

i dream about getting it done, i've worn contacts for 11 years now (only wore glasses for 1 year... i hate glasses!)

last time i checked it's like $1k per eye?? give or take, but prices probably depend on location, etc.

I had it done about 4 years ago and had the PRK done since there was an issue with the size of my eye or osmething like that. Back then it cost me about $3500 and my brother had it done a year and a half after me and he paid around $4000. We both had it done at Stahl in Garden City.

I highly recommend if you are gonna have it done to take something beforehand like a vicodin. I went in with nothing and at the last minute i freaked and I was a terrible patient.

My brother had it and was pleased with the results. I wish I could, but I was told no one would do it for me (I have a bad astigmatism). Good luck with your decision.

Wow realy??? Does he do patients with astigmatisms because I have one as well!!
