Re: Lasik

well i'm back from consultation and i'm not a canidate for lasik but for prk or epi lasik which they say is better than prk.
i'm trying to do somemore research so any help is totally appreciated!!, especially in the recovery time.

Re: Lasik

My FI had it done by DR. Dellarusso in Manhattan, and he is so pleased with the results. He went in the day after the surgery and was seeing 20/20. My FI highly recommends Dr. Dellarusso.

Re: Lasik

I had an attempted epi-lasik in one eye and had a complication during the cutting of the cornea (blade caused a scratch on the cornea surface below which was the part that was going to be lasered) Dr. had to stop the surgery and put the flap back. I then had to wait for the cornea to heal then proceeded with PRK on both eyes - (1 eye in Feb and then the other eye 3 weeks later). I have developed an astigmatism caused by the complication in that one eye which I will need another laser surgery to correct - hopefully in the Fall. I'm seeing fine with the other eye. FM me if you want more details as I seldom come to this site these days. Due to my personal experience, I think epi-lasik has the similar risks of blade cutting complications that may arise in regular Lasik. You may want to research/ask your doctor on flap cutting complications to educate yourself.

My doctor was very well credentialed, so problems do happen with top doctors.

Re: Lasik

i'm supposed to get the epi lasik now but he's going to cut away the flap instead and remove it, i told him how important it was for me to get back to work sooner.

has anyone gotten it or know anyone who has... fill me in!!

i went to fill my new eyeglass perscription today... all i can say is I'm thinking that maybe getting Lasik now will be cheaper in the long run...

I had it done almost 5 years ago. THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE! My vision is perfect and I can't believe the things i see and how colors became so vibrant!
