I went to TLC in garden city!

everything before the surgery was fine - and my eyes are completely fine after - better than perfect vision

my one complaint is that TLC doesn't care at all about your after the surgery is over. You have to take the initiative to call them for your 1 mo, 3 mo, 6 mo. ect appointments.

also - if you have the lifetime guarantee from them - after your one year check-up - you have to go to one of their doctors at least once a year in order to maintain your eligibility for the lifetime guarantee.

but honestly -- BEST decision I ever made was to get Lasik - i LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I JUST called and made an appointment for this Saturday for Dr. Donnenfeld for a free consultation. (this post inspired me again). I hope I'm eligible! I HATE MY CONTACTS!

go to diamond vision.com and they are having a tenth ann. special $399 starting at per eye.

Dr. Donnenfeld came highly recommended by my eye doctor when I was questioning who to go to for Lasik. I have yet to make a decision as to whether or not to do it, but I would def check him out for a consultation.

Kinda a related question, but does anyone know if the laser surgery can correct astigmatism?

Yes it can

My brother had an astimatism and he had the sugery and he has perfect vision as well now - but def. go talk to the doc. about all this!

ps - TLC is where Tiger Woods had his eye surgery -- that should make you feel better!

Also, the day after my surgery I was out and about - so I wouldn't be too nervous about having the surgery before the wedding - you've got plenty of time and I'm sure everything will turn out perfect!

wow... thanks for the info! and I see you're a 'wedding newbie', so welcome to the boards! I sent you FM about who you used for your doctor, by the way. And I just made an appointment for Diamond Vision, hoping to get that 399 per eye deal. And, guess what? The girl, Lori, who I spoke to (soooooo nice) is engaged. I told her about this website, so she said she's going to join us!

Lasik is soooo worth it. I went for a consultation at Diamond, but I was not impressed. I used Dr. James Kelly

yes..i went to dr. jackson..but it was for Lasek not Lasik. I had a good experience (just had it a few months ago)

I had Lasik done with dr basilice and so far so good. I had it done almost a month ago

It is definetly worth it. I got it done a year ago and I am seeing things that most people can't see and trust me it is a miracle b/c I had really bad eye sight. But, girls please do your research these are your eyes!! do you really want to bargin shop?

FH went to the Stahl Eye Center, I think in Garden City. Best thing he ever did. I made him do it, I couldn't take him fumbling with the contacts anymore. And complaining there was cat hair under his lenses.
