has anyone had this done? i'm really would like to have the procedure. From the little that I know about it, I am a good candidate for it.
How much does it cost for both eyes? any bad side effects?
any doctor recommendations would be fine too! TIA

Re: Lasik eye surgery
I did it in October at TLC in Garden City (on the perimeter of Roosevelt Field) - best decision I ever made!!!
I paid $4600 for both eyes with custom cornea.
No side effects ... I could see fine that night.

Me too! - same place - who was your Dr? But I had mine done about 8 years ago. No side effects, and though my vision is not quite 20/20, I don't have to wear glasses at all. My Dr. said if I wanted, I could, but it's really not necessary. And It was amazing how as soon as I stood up from the chair, I could actually see the faces DH was making at me from the other side of the room!

Would you believe I already can't remember the name of the Dr who performed the surgery???? If you said it, I'd recognize it (I think!!)

Re: Lasik eye surgery
My sister is an eye doctor and could have had it done for free and choose not to do it. She said it is too new for them to know the long term side effects and some people end up with worse vision in the end. I guess it is really up to the individual person. I am not saying do not have it, this is just her opinion.

Re: Lasik eye surgery
MyDH had it done over a year ago. He loves not having to wear glasses. His eye sight is perfect. He used a doc in Smithtown. I don't remember his name but if you want his info let me know. I think he paid about $3K for both eyes.

Re: Lasik eye surgery
I didn't have Lasik surgery, because I wasn't a candidiate. I had PRK instead. PRK is much more painful, IMO, and the healing process is a lot longer.
The one thing that I learned from my experience is everyone is different and the healing process is different for everyone. I had the surgery Aug 18 or 19 (I can't remember the exact date). If you have anymore questions, please FM me, I have a ton of information.
