LASIK Folks come on in!!

Well, my experience went very well - I had it done in July - wow - I can't believe a month and a half went by already! I used Dr. Charles Rothberg - his office is in Patchogue - but to have the procedure done - you would go to the Lasik Center in Garden City.
The actual procedure was kind of wierd - but I got through it - and I am not a brave person by nature. I don't have any regrets about having it done - I only wish I did it sooner!!!

Yeah, thru my DR, I would either have it done in GC or NYC. I had my first pre-op appt last night (and now have to wear my glasses for two weeks for the f/u).

Glad to hear it was a good experience.

I think having to wear my glasses in public for a week was the most traumatic part!!

My DH had it done at the Stahl eye center in Garden City. He said it was the best thing that he did! Besides marry me LOL!

I am still going through my experience. I didn't have Lasik, I wasn't a candidate. I had PRK, which is IMO more painful and the healing process is a lot longer. I have good and bad days. Hopefully in the near future more good days.

My sister has Lasik and she is doing awesome (I am jealous).

This is my post, not philby. It really annoys me when he doesn't log out.

I had lasik 4 years ago, and its was great. No problems, quick recovery and excellent vision.

Had in done in CA though so my recommendations won't help.

My BIL had PRK, and it took him 6-9 months before his vision fully recovered! Took me about 3-4 hours.

Was your BIL frustrated? Did he end up with 20/20 vision? Is he happy he did it?
