LASIK Surgery

I wear glasses and I want to get contacts for my wedding. My mom and I were talking last night and she suggested I look into LASIK surgery. I'm such a chicken when it comes to doctors and operations so I was wondering if there were any girls out there that have had this procedure? How bad is it? How fast did you recover?

I've been going to my eye doctor all my life and he performs LASIK. Should I just go to him for the procedure or should I look around? How much does it cost?

I had Lasik about 5 years ago and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I was severely near sighted with minimal astigmatism.

I would recommend you talk to your eye doctor to see if you are a candidate first. Lasik can work for a lot of people but it is more complicated if you have astigmatism.

Once you find out if you are a candidate, then I would recommend you check around to see who is the most highly recommended / best reputation doctor.

As for cost, it can cost anywhere from $2000 - $5000, depending on your eyesight.
