I took it but it was after my heart surgery. Why do you have to start taking ti?? It was aweful....I had to 'GO' all the time

Yes lasix is a diuretic and will help move excess fluid from the body. However you can loose a lot of sodium, body water, and other minerals out with the urine too. Hope this is being prescribed for you.

My aunt is nurse and recommended I take this. She told me to ask my doctor, but that means blood tests, etc. So kind of hesistant.

#1. I'm not even sure where you're getting this medication if not from a physician, seeing as it's a prescription medication.
#2. Please don't take this (or any other prescription medication for that matter) unless it's been prescribed to YOU by your physician. This is very foolish, dangerous and the results could be FATAL.

I haven't taken it. My aunt just recommended it, but advise me that I have to call me Dr.
