Re: Last Buffy tonight
I was in a sureal mood last night, thinking this was it....
Do you think Spike really realized Buffy loved him or do you think he died thinking she was only patronizing him?
Totally awesome episode. I was on the edge of my seat all the way.

Re: Last Buffy tonight
Last week as Spike watched on (with the first whispering in his ear), Angel and Buffy kissed after not seeing each other in eons. Spike left in a huff. Angel presented Buffy with this crystal necklace thing that supposedly was all powerful and was designed for a champion. Angel told Buffy he would stand with her in the final battle but she told him to leave. There was some mild bantering back and forth about Buffy's relationship with Spike, but he finally agreed to go. When Buffy got home, Spike confronted her about kissing Angel, but Buffy assured him it was only a hello kind of kiss. She handed him the necklace as the snuggled in for the night. Restless, Buffy paced the floors as the 1st approached her with some more back and forth the end is near dialogue. As Spike woke and the 1st disappeared, Buffy had a revelation about how to conquer and win over the looming evil! Buffy called a conference of the slayers in training and told them they all had a choice but the plan was set and they had to be in or out.
The next day, the gang set forth for the school as Buffy was going to open the hellmouth, but not before Willow would perform some spell that would make all women in the world strong as slayers, it would envoke the power within them all. There were some intense moments before the hellmouth was opened, like Buffy and Dawn in the hallway. Then there was Giles, Buffy, Willow and Zander in the hallway... As one would walk away, it would dwindle down to who had the most history with Buffy. Zander being the last man standing...
The hellmouth was opened, Willow performed the spell and literally all hell broke loose. No one was prepared for the volume of demons they'd be up against, but everyone put up their best fight. As the battle raged on, things started taking a turn for the worse and the gang was getting their butt kicked everywhere. There were some fallen heroes, like Anya and even Buffy's wounds seemed mortal. The 1st got up in Buffy's face and there was more bantering then something happened and Spike became aware of the power of the necklace, the power that was presented to him, to be champion. All of a sudden this beam of light emerged from the crystal and zapped all the demons to dust. Everyone started taking off because the place was falling down around them. Buffy pleaded for Spike to go with them, but he said he wanted to stick around and watch the show. She held his hand as she professed her love for him. He said he knew she didn't mean it, but thanks for saying it. There was one final look between them and Buffy took off. Spike announced that his soul had been restored as he started to disintegrate, layers of his body melting away. He turned into a pile of ash. The remaining members of the gang took off down the road in a schoolbus as Buffy ran as fast as she could to catch the bus (on the roof of the school no less) as the ground behind them all started to fall into this giant crater. Buffy jumped for the bus and the gang was safe (or some of them). They stared back at what was once Sunnydale and discussed what, if anything they would do with the rest of their lives....

Re: Last Buffy tonight
EXCELLENT recap Shamee!!!! I think Spike probably had to tell her that he thought she didn't mean it to spare her in some way. I LOVED the shot of Buffy smiling at the end because she no longer had the weight of the world to bear ALONE, because she now shared her power with all the potentials forever. I also LOVEd the part when Buffy told Angel that Spike wasn't exactly her boyfriend, but that was how she thought of him in her heart. (somebody get me a tissue!!!!sniff! sniff!)
